1237076 2011-10-12 09:00:00 Hi Team

I just gave in to temptation and checked out Tom Cruise driving a Red Bull F1 car, and when I dropped out of that I had a look at www.dannymcaskill.co.uk doing cycling tricks at an old scottish ironworks. When that finished I tried another link which started to run (with music and video) then suddenly threw me a BSOD. I rebooted and it froze at the motherboard/bios screen, so I rebooted again and this time it fired up to the desktop normally.

I opened PF1 and that came up, but then the music that had been playing just before the BSOD started up again. I closed PF1 and reopened it and so far so good, no music.

No, I didn't get the BSOD details, I was a bit taken aback and my first thought was to kill whatever was going on.

Is there any possible explanation for this strange sequence of events?

Cheers

1237077 2011-10-12 09:22:00 what version of flash is installed? V11 final? Thats if it crashes with a video on a site (that uses flash). Get bluescreenview and see what that says (thats if you didnt use ccleaner after ). Could be a buggy site or something Speedy Gonzales (78)

Whats the OS ?

Once you get the BSOD eveything is stopped already, so you can take your time and write down the numbers :)

1237080 2011-10-13 01:51:00 OS is XP Sp3. Everything is going ok today, and it wasn't so much the BSOD that worried me, though I admit to having a bowel-loosening moment when the reboot stalled at the initial MB screen.

What got me going was the music that started when I opened PF1. Nice touch I thought, a 'welcome back from the brink of disaster' serenade from PF1, but how the heck could opening PF1 trigger an audio file?

Cheers

I see I have just passed 5000 posts for the second time. That is 70 days of 24 hour posting at 10 min per post. This takes no account of incidental browsing time, so that adds up to $126,000 in chargeable time since I joined the forum, or about $6000 per annum excluding GST,

To whom do I send my account? :D

(On second thoughts, forget it, Speedy would bankrupt Donald Trump if he billed his time.) :devil

at 2 seconds per post it's probably worth less than it first appears...

The mystery sound is probably due to the browser reloading the crashed session and reopening the link to the file.

1237083 2011-10-13 04:50:00 Danny Mcaskill is damn good though you have to admit Billy not only is he an awesome bike rider but he can get your computer to play tunes Damn good??? You are damning him with faint praise. Anybody who can ride a bike down a railway line (single rail) is pretty good, but when he rode down an un-guyed wire rope, that was just mind-blowing! It wasn't trick photography either!

I hear he used to be 6'6" but all those long drops have shortened his spine and he is now 5'4" :D

Cheers
