| 1237071 | 2011-10-12 08:37:00 | I have just replaced my old 1999 17" CRT monitor with a new LG E2241V LCD monitor. The CRT used to switch off when XP shutdown, but the new LCD only goes into sleep mode. Is there a way to get the LCD to shut off completely without having to press the power button? |

Could be a faulty monitor. Do you have a spare LCD monitor ( to see if the same thing happens)? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

It is lit continuously when the monitor is on, flashes when in sleep mode, and is off when the monitor is off. We turn the mains off when not using the computer, so I would prefer this is done with the monitor off, rather than in sleep/standby. |
