| 1211113 | 2011-06-22 07:42:00 | They advertised for people to take part in the opening ceremony back in May (www.3news.co.nz). So now, after all the hype, they still haven't got enoug (www.3news.co.nz)h! Predictable I'd have thought, given all the hitches they've had. "A volunteer problem is the last thing Rugby World Cup organisers need right now. Remember they're focussed on reselling the thousands of tickets earmarked for the now-cancelled Christchurch games". Quick! You've only got 'til Sunday! :stare: :sleep |

Quick! You've only got 'til Sunday! :stare: :sleep The WRC is a commercial thing, and it is a professional sport, so people should be getting paid to work at it. This differs from comparisons with the commonwealth games which is an amateur event, and volunteers are more relevant. |

| 1211118 | 2011-06-22 08:59:00 | Yeah, they could just add 5% to ticket to cover the additional staffing... Anyone who can afford $300 for a ticket to 90 minute game won't notice the additional $15... :pf1mobmini: |

| 1211119 | 2011-06-22 09:28:00 | Its all in keeping. ;) The last time we were supposed to run one we screwed up and the Aussies picked up the baton at real short notice and made a huge success of the whole thing. This time it will probably go ahead, but, turn out a financial disaster and thankfully the soccer players and tax payers will pick up the tab. :crying Included in the costs will be megabucks for the Spin Doctors to explain the stupidity, so you really think you got a bargain. The stupidity is mainly the cost of tickets and related costs like accommodation. Look at the price of some of the unsold tickets. Fair go mate youve got to be bloody dreaming. |
