1210597 2011-06-19 22:04:00 It appears that when the P&T was split, the same set of degenerate morals that surfaced so early in the "T" half of the deal were a bit slower to surface in the "P" Department; but they surely did arrive (www.stuff.co.nz). R2x1 (4628)
1210598 2011-06-19 23:15:00 Their Chairman is just using the same tactics as his former political party has recently been caught doing. Using data collected for one purpose for a completely different one for their own gain. Not in the slightest bit surprising. CliveM (6007)

Lolz the old P&T wouldn't have done that. In fact they hardly did anything about 6 guys and 2 trucks to change a wooden telephone pole.

1210600 2011-06-19 23:39:00 I find quite often when I fill out a registration for a web site I am asked for my email address so that they can send me newsletters. One other option which can be left unticked is, "Do you wish to receive offers from our trusted partners". Who are these trusted partners? Are they trusted by the web site owner because they pay them money for your email address? Bobh (5192)
1210601 2011-06-20 01:22:00 No better than what Xtra do with your emails. Read the terms & conditions they want you to agree to. I had several emails from Xtra wanting me to login to 'new improved' webmail, & therefore agree to its bogus terms & conditions.

Also, when you supply info to any company, this can be (& sometimes has been) onsold to other companies.
More likely to happen when that company is sold or in receivership. Then anything goes.
Havnt some NZ regional Councils also been caught selling contact info to marketing companies ??

1210602 2011-06-20 01:32:00 Why did you post the header as the "Son of Telecom"?? After all Telecom grew out of the old NZ Post office so what NZ Post is doing has nothing at all to do with Telecom but should have been titled as Son of NZ Post Office but that wouldn't have the same sensationalist ring about it would it??..

By the way P&T stood for Post and Telegraph..

Son is easier to spell ;)
The behaviour is the offspring, since it has taken a while for NZPost to be as brazen as Telecom. They have been at this stunt a while though; they seem to have managed to hock off details supplied on "Change of Address" forms for quite a while without much fuss.
(BTW, If you drill a hole in each end of an egg and suck on one of them, you will get a mouthful of raw egg. ;) )
