Back at NCEA LVL 1 people used to give us art students a bit of stick because people reckoned it was "easy credits" Taking 2x art portfolios this year (Art Design and Photography) I can tell you it is not something to be scoffed at at NCEA level let alone university. A hell of a lot of work goes into something which appears quite small. Then again, the same would apply to me if I looked at 20 pages of some document and though pfft, thats just a month of boring old notes on paper, it probably sums up several years of work. Similarly with stuff in the arts, the final product is quite often the culmination of many hours of work, editing, printing etc. Dunno what i'm going to do with 50 odd art credits whilst studying to be a pilot though :D |
