1238113 2011-10-18 18:05:00 Actually goodiesguy, VLC is *not* a format. It's a player that'll play back almost anything on a PC. Because the .flac filetype is set to open with VideoLAN Client as the default application, it has told windows to identify .flac as a "VLC Media File"

FLAC is *not* a container format like Matroska.
FLAC still plays on bugger all standalone devices.

Cicero, if you've downloaded Goldwave, try this:
Open Goldwave
Click File --> Batch Conversion
Click on "Add Folder" and choose a folder containing your audio
Choose the desired output (MP3 may not work initially as it's not bundled due to patent / legal issues, but it'll guide you to a download site)
Then, hit the button to get it converting and it'll easily do your whole entire library :)

If you choose it's association file types, it has a .vlc file association. I can take a screenshot if you don't believe me.

1238115 2011-10-19 01:00:00 OK let me rephrase that:
.vlc is a playlist format, NOT an audio format, NOT a video format, NOT a container format.
