1210318 2011-06-18 08:42:00 it says the offers attract customers who aren't loyal and they're simply in it for the cheap deals.

Like no S*** pal. You generally go to that sort of place for cheap deals.

Those 2 on TV - haven't seen a single thing advertised yet that I even care about.

Agreed. Mostly beauty treatments.

However there is occasionally a cheap round of golf or a dinner offer that I have taken advantage of. None from the TV promotions though - I imagine they are bleeding money....

Or just don't sign up at all?

Have bought a couple of things in the past. Never had any problems and were cheap. Though their service has gone to hell from when they first started in terms of delivery time and delivery notification.

Yes, that would work, but as I said, every now and then there is a legitimate bargain.

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 through 1-day ($800, RRP $1400 - HN are specialling them this weekend for $899).

They said 7-10 days delivery, and sure enough, 8 days later, there it was.

1210325 2011-06-19 00:52:00 The funny bit is surely that they think customers should be loyal to them and not to good deals. If you keep giving good deals people will stay loyal. I don't use the daily deal sites but I'm currently a pretty loyal customer of JB Hi-Fi and CD WOW because they offer the best deals for me. Twelvevolts (5457)
1210326 2011-06-19 01:41:00 One of those companies mentioned earlier approached a bussiness I have a finger in so to speak.

The deal was they would specify what the service would be, what the cost of the service would be, and they would take a huge cut.

It took about 1.6 seconds to deduce that the business would take a massive loss, and we know from past experience you get no repeat custom from those you attract from taking a loss.

Whats the point?
