1239270 2011-10-23 00:59:00 Just picked up my new Reader and find I can't access the Sony Reader Store as it is only avalable to USA and Canada.
Can anyone recommend a site where I can download some books. I realize that there are dozens of available sites, but I
would appreciate a recommendation for a new ereader user please?.

1239272 2011-10-23 02:24:00 Thanks. How do I get the ebooks from the download site onto my Reader? I thought it was going to be as simple as going into the Sony
Reader Store and download to the Reader. I can't understand why they would release a Reader into NZ when you can't access their Reader Store.
They sure make it hard for us oldies. LOL.

1239273 2011-10-23 02:54:00 Been released in NZ? The sony site only lets you pre-order, didn't get it from a parallel importer did you? Alex B (15479)

1239275 2011-10-23 03:35:00 Use the web browser to download books.

If you want to purchase commercial ebooks, you can buy them from Kobo (http://www.kobobooks.com/) or Whitcoulls. I would reccommend Kobo, as the Whitcoulls store is "powered by Kobo" and has the exact same selectoin, only Kobo discounts some books while whitcoulls dont.

Unfortunately this isn't quite as easy to use as the Sony Reader store :(

Any ebooks you download through the web browser (epub,PDF,txt) will show up in your booklist.

(Note, I don't have a PRS-T1 myself, this is just information I've found out)

1239276 2011-10-23 03:50:00 Thanks that is a start for me. It is a pity the Sony Reader Store can't be accessed from NZ. Perhaps that will improve with time.
I don't know Sony survive with this dumb approach.
