| 1238918 | 2011-10-20 21:52:00 | Hi all, Running windows 7 .. all of a sudden my wifi has a mind of its own .. the wifi is turning off and on .. the sound is also turning off and on and up and down. When it is off .. sometimes I have to push and push the ON switch before it connects .. other times it connects immediately. I have had it on hardwire and all is good .. BUT the sound still ups and downs .. at the moment I have it on wifi and its holding. Hubbys .. on the same wifi is fine. :dogeye: |

| 1238919 | 2011-10-20 23:31:00 | Do you have a laptop with touch-sensitive control buttons for the wireless/sound? Eg HP DV6 or Toshiba L550? | wratterus (105) | ||
| 1238920 | 2011-10-21 00:29:00 | yeh its a HP6 .. I have thought there could be a problem at that point .. but the wifi touch button is 4 inches from the sound .. well maybe 2!! and I never use them .. | Lovelee (6586) | ||
| 1238921 | 2011-10-21 00:43:00 | I suspect the touch sensitive buttons have, for some reason, gone nuts. Disconnecting them might well be the best option, it's possible disconnecting and re-connecting might fix it, but probably only temporarily. If you flip the laptop over, take out the battery and remove all the screws marked with an arrow, the bit of the top cover with the buttons on it should come off with a bit of gentle persuasion. Try disconnecting and re-connecting the ribbon cable, or disconnecting all together. here are a few pics from the service manual... 3303330433053306 |
