I'll be running a Intel Core i7 2600 SandyBridge 3.400Ghz 6MB LGA1155 1 and Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3 1333 CL9 1 with Microsoft Windows 7 Pro 64-bit I'll be playing games and doing video proccessing. The price difference is only about $20 so thats not a factor 1) mother board Asus P8Z68-V-LE skt1155 intel Z68 HDMI DVi D-SUB 1 or Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3R-B3 Intel P67 DDR3 USB3 SATA3 1 2)video card EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti DS 1 or Power Color HD6950 2GB DDR5 256Bit 1 any help appreciated ta |

| 1238553 | 2011-10-19 07:08:00 | In my personal opinion, I would recommend Nvidia (your GTX) over ATI, I have a HD6950 and cant say I'm all that over the moon about it and will be going back to Nvidia when my supplier gets some higher end ones back in stock. Probably go for the Z68 series Motherboard over the P67 also. I would also recommend 8Gb memory with Win 7 64bit with what you will be doing with it. Good luck with your new system. |

| 1238556 | 2011-10-19 20:26:00 | Agree with above, the asus Z68 and EVGA GTX560ti would be a great combo. 8G of RAM is also a good suggestion. A couple of notes about the cpu, the performance difference between an i7 2600 and an i5 2500 is tiny and basically non-existant for games. The i7 is better(just) but if you want the best bang for buck the i5 is a great option. Also if you buy a "K" version you get the option to overclock and better integrated graphics, which coupled with the Z68 would allow you to take full advantage of quicksync for video editing (assuming any software ever adds support for it, very limited at present). Tests I've read show quicksync as by far the fastest video processing option when compared to CPU or GPU options and much better quality than any other GPU assisted video. |

Also when looking up CPU reviews, as dugimodo pointed out, there isn't much difference between 2500 and 2600 (except the $100 ish). You do get a few benefits, but in my opinion, not really $100 worth. And go with the 2500k - you get overclocking. I build my 2500k/P67A/8GB-DDR3 for video processing and I haven't had any issues with it. |
