| 1211972 | 2011-06-25 23:09:00 | Another episode from Streets of Auckland wherein our front line force have their cars dealt to ... Short description: Dog at large causes havoc Full description: Hungry Dog likes police tyres An unlucky South Auckland police sergeant whilst patroling in Mangere has had an encounter with a large black dog. The dog has attacked his vehicle biting the tyre. The Sergeant retreated to discover that his tyre was punctured. He has changed his tyre and returned to ensure the dog was not a danger to public. The dog has again attacked his tyre giving him a second puncture. He has again retreated, assisted by another Sergeant he has used a second spare tyre. The second sergeant has had his tyre attacked and punctured. Specialist assistance was sought from animal control who have arrived. The animal control officer has in turn had his tyre attacked and punctured. Enquiries are continuing to locate the owner of the dog. Police would like to hear from any occupants of Pukaki Street who know where this dog belongs. |

| 1211973 | 2011-06-25 23:41:00 | While the thought of destroying a dog is not a happy thought, this dog sounds like it's got a screw loose, and is potentially very dangerous. On the other hand, maybe it's harmless to humans and just has a bizarre tyre fetish... although if it's made a habit of doing this I'd suspect most of the neighbourhood would be keen to get rid of it. |

Ps. as this site appears to use American dictionary, shoot the dog first then change the tires. lurks. |

Shooting it is a bit excessive, it eats tyres, not people. Kind of funny though.......... Apparently the owner has no wish to control his dog, since the dog is out on the street chewing tyres. Tyres now, kids later? Someone needs to take responsibility for that potential risk... |

Shooting it is a bit excessive, it eats tyres, not people. Kind of funny though.......... x2 I think the cops may have thought it funny, too, from the way the release was worded. If the pooch was aggressive towards people, the cops would have recognised that and taken immediately strong action. Me thinks they'll only be looking for some tires to be replaced. And the pooch to be confined to a fenced section. :) |

If it did, some posts would be one long red wiggly line. The spell-checker will be from your browser. Depending upon which one you use, you may have an option for a New Zealand dictionary. |
