| 1211290 | 2011-06-25 00:41:00 | If you want to go to Australia to better yourself, go. Don't worry about all the negative comments from people that haven't got two pennies to rub together & don't want you to have more that they have. What is this petty Aussie NZ crap. NZ's never going to compete in the real world, it's too small. | Phil B (648) | ||
| 1211291 | 2011-06-25 01:04:00 | I think that the two main reasons for New Zealanders going overseas to work are; 1. The big OE. 2. Better opportunities where there is a larger population base. I personally prefer to stay in New Zealand. I might consider going over to Australia on holiday. My grandfather was a Tasmanian so I would like to visit Tasmania. |

Conversations are for the sharing of views and the presentation of information, There is no fun if people don't play their hand so to speak. It would take a moron to allow a forum thread to sway their long term plan.... Unless their plan was a crap one. Like building a rocket to fly to the moon to harvest the cheese to break Fonterras stranglehold on NZ. |

| 1211293 | 2011-06-25 01:07:00 | I went to Aussie. Spent 12 years there and came back in 1993. I'm quite happy staying in NZ these days. |

That's why I'm still here. I read the other day the exodus is the biggest it's been in 32 years. Christchurch is one reason. |

I read the other day the exodus is the biggest it's been in 32 years. Christchurch is one reason. Christchurch is the main reason for the current net loss, CHCH will probably loose up to 10% of its population before it starts to regain again. All very predictable looking at trends from other disasters, and yet the media still like to dramatise the NZ population loss and idiots buy into the negativity. I like to remind people NZ's population has grown substantially faster than countries like the US or UK over the last 10 years and is not that far behind Aus percentage growth. |
