1211745 2011-06-27 05:04:00 Now that skit has made me even more scared of dentists.:horrified:groan::horrified Bobh (5192)
1211746 2011-06-27 05:23:00 I go to this guy http://www.dentalman.co.nz/ Pretty happy and no dramas yet although I am unsure about the IV thingy you were talking about. There is a link on the website that gives you 20% off your treatment course (not just appointment). I saved a few hundred dollars on mine. Barnabas (4562)
1211747 2011-06-27 05:35:00 $2 glasses work just fine for people with old age long sightedness. Doesn't work at all if you have any other eye problem. Unfortunately.Won't check you for possible Glaucoma either.! Pato (2463)

It's tempting to compare your doctor's bill with the fee you pay your dentist. But for most of us a trip to the doctor is heavily subsidised by the government - so of course it costs less.

David Crum, executive director of the New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA), says that dental treatment costs stack up very well when compared with other forms of medical surgery in private practice or private hospitals.

:)
Dr Crum is full of it.

The vet isn't subsidised either and I tell you it's a hell of a lot cheaper to get dental done at the vet. Not to mention they put their patients fully to sleep before doing anything.

Yes I did ask my vet, thought he could put me down as a large primate.

I have 2 teeth - the ones either side of the top front ones. One is nearly out cause it's been falling out for ages. The other died 2 years ago. It needed a root canal.
Since I couldn't afford it and being a front on that I didn't really want out, I left it.

It broke off last week, icky bits hanging out the gum. So two that need replacing.

Apparently it's cheaper to rip the others (so 4 in a row to replace) than replace just the two problem ones.

And that's the price, most of which is the cheap nasty replacement. Other forms of replacement are worse in cost.

1211750 2011-07-14 21:32:00 did you find a good one in the end pctek?

Luminos. They were nice. But I can't afford it even with finance so it will just have to wait until one day.
