1211270	2011-06-23 05:17:00	A few months ago I think it was Campbell did a show about New Zealanders moving to Oz they featured a guy in a manual job saying how much more money he was earning, yet what they didn't pick up on was the fact he was working 10-15 more hours a week over there as well as having to travel 11/2 hours each way to work compared to 20 mins over here. Yes there is a big difference in wages over there but you might not be better off when you look at the bigger picture That Campbell feature highlighted the massive difference in hourly rate, the hours worked is mostly insignificant, plenty of workplaces in NZ do long hours, and the workers are paid a pittance. So stinking hot all the time like Brisbane is better? Have you been to Australia lately? there is HUGE racism towards all sorts of immigrants. Australia also has about 18X the amount of people hiding on there disability benefit than we have on sickness here (should be 5.5x Relatively speaking). I dispute there unemployment rate WHEN comparing it to NZ its more like 9.5% Mind due governments here have stacked unemployment onto the sickness benefit in the past to make unemployment look better, but we are not doing it atm.
