1211780 2011-06-25 05:20:00 I find rechargeables go flat a lot quicker than the cheap max-life batteries from Mitre 10, so I always have a supply of spare non-rechargeable batteries. Greven (91)
1211781 2011-06-25 05:51:00 Also, there was a guy on Trade Me selling them for a good price, but I don’t know if he still is because I haven’t had to buy any. :)

Catweazle? Isn't that the same person who posts here infrequently?

1211783 2011-06-25 08:05:00 Digby, I’ve still got Sanyo eneloop’s that are over two years old and as good now as ever.

They’re dear to start with, but cheap in the end.

Also, there was a guy on Trade Me selling them for a good price, but I don’t know if he still is because I haven’t had to buy any. :)

Frankly, I’m surprised that the word on these eneloops hasn’t spread quicker.

Be careful. There were a whole load of 'normal' rechargeable batteries that were produced in China marked as Eneloops.

They were fake.

1211784 2011-06-25 11:37:00 Thanks

I see that eneloop is a brand of Sony, who developed the concept.
They sound good, I must get some.

1211785 2011-06-25 12:18:00 Sony eneloop sounds like a good rechargeable battery. I have a good supply of rechargeable batteries at the moment and I am not ready for replacements. Rechargeable battery technology is getting better so who knows what will be around when I am in need of replacements. Bobh (5192)
1211786 2011-06-25 21:34:00 Ok, given that there seems to be some impostors out there, the eneloop’s I refer to are made by Sanyo not Sony and are manufactured in Japan not China.

Doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s Rolex watches or battery’s someone makes a cheap imitation of a quality product. :(

Oops sorry I meant to say Sanyo

1211788 2011-06-25 22:40:00 Apple have even rebranded these sanyo eneloop batteries for themselves.
Selling for $51 for 6 of them with a charger. Probably a bit of apple tax there

1211789 2011-06-26 03:36:00 Just bought a set of 4 Sanyo Eneloops from Dick Smith with a charger.

Four with a standard charger for $39.95

Keen to see how they perform.

Apple - well they are the same colour!
