1212020 2011-06-26 02:16:00 I have a new Samsung UA55D8000 TV and getting it set up has been fairly easy. It picked up my wifi and identified all the network devises including My Book Live which has a whole lot of .mp4 videos stored on it in the Shared Videos Folder. The TV says “not supported format” when try to open them. Yet when put the same video onto a USB drive they play just fine! Thought it may be the wifi causing the problem so tried a network cable but no joy.
Have posted on a couple of forums so thought would see if there is some bright spark on this board may have a solution!
Thanks

1212021 2011-06-26 02:36:00 Probably an issue with the DLNA server on the drive. Have you tried setting up Windows Media Player media sharing & trying to load the videos from your PC/Laptop DLNA server? Greven (91)
1212022 2011-06-26 02:48:00 Thanks – Windows Media Player plays these videos just fine! On another board a member has pointed out that the USB is probably has FAT as a system file and My Book NTFS – that is correct but what can I change on My Book?
Thanks
BTW – if you happen to see any snow down there – can you direct it up this way please!!

1212023 2011-06-26 04:00:00 The filesystem shouldn't matter if you are using DLNA. Has Western Digital released any updates for the drive?

No sign of snow down here - just grey sky everywhere.

1212024 2011-06-26 11:30:00 The answer is easy the mybooklive DLNA "twonky" software is version 5 and they didnt fix it for Samsung tvs until version 6

W.D will not upgrade firmware to this version for some reason
