| 1240239 | 2011-10-27 06:31:00 | Kia ora everyone, Our site is needing to setup an FTP server to send and receive files between two sites . We intend to setup an FTP server with a static IP address . Currently we are planning to setup the server using a commodity PC running either: Windows XP or Linux . The server will also run an application developed in C++ that waits for stimulus in terms of a file to send or that has been received . The question is what are the pros and cons of each option and if there are instructions on how this could be setup at zero cost to our not for profit? Many thanks! Andreas |
