we all need aditional space where we can secure our files.
here are some online services which offer online space for free
1. http://box.net/ - 5gb

2.https://www.dropbox.com/ - 2gb+aditional storage from referrals (up to 8gb)

3. www.cx.com/ (https:) - 10gb

4. www.adrive.com/ (http:) - 50gb

thats all i use. please list other free online storage sites if you know :)

1213472 2011-07-14 01:24:00 I'm quite impressed by Dropbox (recent thread). Not for bulk storage or backup but sharing files. eg, I put a link to one of the files into an email I'm sending to someone

Just now I tried to share a Dropbox folder (rather than just a file) via "copy public link" but it wouldn't let me. So I zipped-up the folder's files and put the resulting .zip file into my Dropbox. That worked. I was able to copy the public link to this so-called "folder", put it into an email to myself and retrieve the files from the incoming email

Like this (10kB)

The last thing I need is insecure space on a public network system for my personal stuff.

It worries me a bit too much also, storing my personal data on a public network.:illogical I prefer to use an external drive to back my personal data onto, these are cheap enough.
