1212418 2011-06-27 03:22:00 Borrowed one from an relative to troubleshoot a project but it's not complete so I need the EA article to get it up and running...

Board numbers are 78f6a and 78f6b (so I am guessing 1978 here)

It looks like an updated version of the 200Mhz Frequency Meter that was in EA March 1977.

If anyone has a copy of the magazine etc and could scan and email the article to me that would be great!

1212419 2011-06-27 03:38:00 Silicon Chip has bought all of EA's projects. Try them via google. Peter H (220)

1212421 2011-06-27 05:25:00 This text site has ref's to EA 78F6A/B/C (1978) and related to LT303. Might be able to find articles in the data sheet archives. (http://www.datasheetarchive.com/) kahawai chaser (3545)

Where did you find that number?

I think you might be getting something else confused with the numbers I mentioned

Ahh I think I understand now... looking up the numbers I found this which I guess is what you found:

users.tpg.com.au

LT303 is just the part number of the 7-Segment LED displays used, and the 78F6A\78F6B etc are codes for the PCBs.

Unfortunately the datasheet for an LT303 won't help much in this case.

1212427 2011-08-08 05:33:00 Well this search certainly took a while but it looks like it got there in the end!

As it turns out, the copy Billy T gave me was for the 1977 version and while it was close I eventually decided it would be potentially less hassle to keep trying to get the correct documentation for the version I have.

Nothing could be found online, the Central City library appears to have misplaced their copies of EA and it was only when I was in Dick Smith 2 days ago asking for a manual for one of their older models of oscilloscope that I realised I should just ask them for the kit construction manual!

As it turns out they had both manuals I needed, and emailed both of them to me for free as PDFs.

You can ask for copies at any Dick Smith store but be ready for fun when you have to convince the clowns working there that the company still has documentation that old!
