1212983 2011-06-29 11:41:00 The question is, how often are you sober?
As for me, still a smoker. Dam its hard to give up

Drink only once or twice a month. Between work, daddy daycare, band, mrs and recording not much time for it.

1212984 2011-06-29 21:15:00 The enjoyment from smoking comes from satisfying a craving that you wouldn't have if you didn't smoke.

Any so called enjoyment from smoking is just feeding the addiction, There is far more enjoyment from not having that need to fill.

I don't consider its hard to quit, just some people are either incredibly weak or have no intention of stopping.

Each to their own.

Well said Metla, so true. I love it when a smoker says he doesnt want to stop as he enjoys it. Fool.

Yeah but do you want to die peacefully from old age in your sleep or whatever, or in extreme pain from lung cancer because you said f**k it, and smoked all day?

We know some people's solution seems to be to shoot themselves but that's not exactly fun either...

I think this was quoted on these forums recently:

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
- Hunter S. Thompson

And that is exactly what I plan to do, completely use my body up, and if when its all used up I'm 40, 50, 90 or w/e, I'll discard it by whatever means necessary.

Keeping healthy etc now so in my 'old age' I won't suffer makes absolutely no sense to me. I would rather be reckless, self-destructive now and have an utter blast while I'm at it.

Call me foolish and young - its working out fine so far :D

1212989 2011-06-30 04:52:00 Being fit is great, live life to the fullest, I keep fit but I also indulge in everything, I guess it's a matter of balancing it out, work hard play hard etc rob_on_guitar (4196)

In fact not smoking ever is no guarantee you can't get lung cancer. It's happened - no miners, around smokers, country air etc.

Smoking may mean you die of something else too.

We'll all die of some component failure in the end.

1212991 2011-06-30 05:17:00 I use to smoke from about 1966 to 1975. Went and stayed with an uncle and aunty in 1975 for a fortnight who didn't smoke and I didn't either and havn't had one since. Before that I use to smoke about 10 a day.

1212992 2011-06-30 07:03:00 There are two fundamental choices in life:

#1: Clean Mind

#2: Clean Body

I chose #2.
