Surely your mind is open to then just what the bureaucrats want to dictate? As it happens I vote for what I believe will benefit the Country as a whole and thereby benefiting myself. I'm also intelligent enough to realise that others can and do vote and may well see it differently and that's as it should be. I don't, however, like the back room deals that are made after the votes are cast to form a Government though. |

| 1212705 | 2011-06-28 08:58:00 | Ever noticed more road works get done near the end of the financial year? They spend the money so they can apply for a similar amount for the next financial year! I can understand why the people in charge of repairing roads need to spend left over money at the end of the financial year. They most likely have money left over because they have budgeted during the year. They have to prioritise during the year to remain within the budget. It is a case of use it before the end of the financial year or lose it and get a lesser amount allocated the following year. Delays encountered by road works are a pain in the butt but at least our roads are being improved. On the other hand, the politicians who have money left over from their annual fund to run their parliamentary and electorate offices (including promotional material), are rubbing their hands together because they have money left over to spend. They appear to be funnelling this money toward their election campaign. The same politicians are making money, saving cuts in other areas because NZ needs to cut spending. |

That's why we need an outright majority of one or other of the top two parties, which would do away with kowtowing for weeks after the election. Lurking. |

| 1212710 | 2011-06-28 11:55:00 | Due to your limitations, I'm going to help you out a bit here. The post was to illustrate that people could have wildly differing view points, ideas and actions, and nobody else was in a position to demand their silence or take away their rights to support their beliefs. If you can challenge that with some intelligence then please go ahead. LOL, your not even worth talking too!.....cya! |
