| 1239337 | 2011-10-24 06:29:00 | Do others agree that modems can crap out occassionally. (and if so why ?) I am sure that mine gets "clogged up" and if I turn it off and reset my Windows Network connection, then I get my performance back again. Could be a bug in firmware causing a memory leak or such, or just too many connections when running something like bittorrent filling up the RAM anyway. Or it could be a hardware fault\overheating causing errors thus causing more retries and slowdowns over time - although you wouldn't expect this to be fixed with a restart, so it's probably a software problem - check for firmware updates first. |
