1240361 2011-10-27 23:09:00 Hi there.
Any of the resellers out there have experience with Lenovo support
-appallingly bad so far, for me. is it allways this bad with lenovo
going on over a week for new PC, Im waiting for this new(straight out of the box) pc to be fixed, under NEXT DAY onsite warranty.

I was thinking about selling/supplying Lenovo's to my clients/customers, but after this I have my doubts

1240362 2011-10-27 23:25:00 I never sold one, wouldn't sell one.
I look at this stuff before and make a decision, it can change but if the general feedback remains that it's crap, I stay with not selling them.
And I don't just mean Lenovos either. Acer for instance springs to mind, never mind the failure rate was too high, I'd been forced to deal with their support on behalf of customers before, and it sure didn't encourage me to have anything to do with them.

1240363 2011-10-27 23:33:00 Yeah. I would have preferred to sell a HP (Business Class PC). But after HP's announcement that they were quitting the PC division, I had my doubts on HP's PC future support.
Doesnt leave many options if I want to sell a name brand PC.
Ive seen too many issues with NEW locally assembled stuff , thats why we started selling name brands only. Im sure there are good local assemblers though, its a matter of finding a good one that will sell at trade pricing.

Ah Acers. I know a few people who used to work for some of their Authorised warranty repair centres.
I'll say no more

1240366 2011-10-28 00:07:00 Agreed - they are excellent, from what I've heard, but it is a bit of a risk long term. wratterus (105)
1240367 2011-10-28 00:31:00 I don't really see the risk to be honest. HP Business gear is common enough that it's never going to be hard to get parts for. Alex B (15479)

Try Arche. I have found them very good to deal with.

Desktops - build your own,
Laptops - still plenty to choose from

1240370 2011-10-28 06:23:00 HP business stuff is usually very good, but they are almost as painful to deal with as everyone else when it comes time to claim on the warranty. I might consider selling Acer business PCs/Laptops if Dove Electronics were able to authorise warranty repairs & send down forward replacement parts. Bugger dealing with Acer direct. Greven (91)
