1240988 2011-10-31 04:38:00 Hey all.

I know some people on here are really good at this stuff, so I thought I would toss this out there.

Every time I start up my computer, I get black bars around the edges, reducing my resolution.

When I right click on the desktop and open Catalyst Control Center (I have a Radeon 5870) it automatically reverts back to full screen again. (I think it has something to do with the 'enable GPU scaling' option).

I realize that's a very simple fix, but I would still rather not have to do that every time I start up the computer.

Any thoughts? My monitor is a 1920x1080 resolution, and that's what I have it set to.

1240989 2011-10-31 04:59:00 Sounds a little like the Catalyst Control Center is not working correctly, and when opening it suddenly wakes up and works.

Try this -- right click the screen, click on Screen resolution ( NOT Catalyst Control Center) reset the resolution to what you want -- Does it now stay put after a reboot ?

1240990 2011-10-31 05:01:00 For some reason I just now thought of updating the display drivers after posting the topic.

I updated to the latest version (11.9 I believe) and that seemed to fix it even after restart.

Thanks for your response!
