1214445 2011-07-03 23:34:00 I was just reading a news article that kind of gave me a chuckle . Yes there was a person that died . I read the responses .

Some say it's ugly and that people should just be careful and do what they want how they like . Some also said barriers were a earthquake risk .

But I thought that . . internationally many places have them, so not all people can be said, hey just trust me .

And, althou any death or injuries are never good, internationally speaking NZ has a great safety record . Many of the deaths/injuries overseas don't get as much publicity as here .

1214450 2011-07-04 08:08:00 When I lived in Wellington I could see how this sort of thing happens. It's like a Lemmings race to the other side of the road. Crosswalk lites mean nothing to them.. paulw (1826)
