1214687 2011-07-07 01:33:00 I'm in the market for a lappy, too, so rather than peppering the place with new threads I'll jump on board if you don't mind Erger .

I need reasonable resolution for image editing, not too worried by a larger sized beastie, but do want a reliable machine and good service should things go t*ts-up .

I'd heard Thinkpads had gone down hill since Lenovo took over, that Sony were the go for service and HP weren't . Toshiba aren't as good as they used to be, Asus are a bit clunky?

Choices choices!

Oh yeah, I have fat fingers and type slowly .

1214688 2011-07-07 02:40:00 I doubt you'd go wrong with a 13" macbook pro or lenovo x220 (and perhaps elitebook 2560p when they become available). They are best ultraportable performance notebooks. They're well built and will last years even if treated relatively roughly (perhaps macbook less so).

The macbook has an optical drive, but the lenovo has an IPS screen so nothing else (not even macbooks) comes close in image quality.

I concur both of these...Lenovo make great business lappys!

Never had any service issue with Lenovo's, however that might be cause Ive never had to call for service . . . . . Sony are crap, and I would just say walk away from Sony . . . . . ASUS dont do Business class, so for me its Lenove\HP then Tosh!

1214693 2011-07-07 04:23:00 Yeah, would prefer win7 pro.

I don't think I'm going to like the price much of a business laptop that has decent resolution, rather than the standard 1366x768. Ah well.
