| 1214495 | 2011-07-04 02:00:00 | Any American film where no effort is made by the actors to adopt an appropriate accent, ie playing the part of a German or Frenchman with a strong American accent. As bad, is when an American tries to speak English English and fails miserably, as per Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. He tried to sound like a cockney, probably by speaking with a pebble in his mouth. The acclaimed film (at least in America) All Quiet On The Western Front had all these WW1 soldiers speaking broad American. Of course to American ears it would not seem wrong, but just imagine if the film had been made in England with the characters speaking in upper class English public school, instead of 've haf vays off making you talk'. Can anyone imagine the Americans making the TV series 'Allo 'Allo ? :banana:clap:lol: Edit: "The American's "strike a light, guv'nor" Cockney caricature in Mary Poppins is widely regarded as delivering the worst film accent of all time. | 1214502 | 2011-07-04 04:16:00 | It's got a lot to do with personal taste, but while a lot of the movies listed are mediocre they hardly count as "worst movie you ever saw" to me . Or maybe you guys just haven't watched as many movies as me . I watch a lot, and I don't get too picky based on the cover . You find some real gems hiding amongst the rubbish occasionally . I have happily forgotten most of the bad movie titles, but one that springs to mind is Diamond Dog (or maybe dogs, not sure) . It is a truly crappy movie and if you think the ones you posted are bad I reccomend you watch it just to get some perspective :P As someone mentioned, Bloodrayne was also terrible . I don't care about accents, they have no real bearing on the story and you can just ignore them . |
