2011-07-05 05:33:00 | Felt a quake in North Canterbury at that time. I just assumed it was 'one of ours'. Both She and I felt it, and it made the pictures sway on the walls. | John H (8) | |

2011-07-05 05:33:00 | All of a sudden my mate is interested in earthquakes and is reading about past New Zealand ones on Wikipedia :p | pcuser42 (130) | |
2011-07-05 05:42:00 | Ah the days when small earthquakes were not news worthy. Though in saying that I did feel it in Chch, but like John H assumed it was one of ours and thought nothing of it. But seriously, just because of what happened in Chch does that really mean we need to headline every 2.9 and 150km deep shake?

2011-07-05 05:56:00 | Yes I live in Waltham, Christchurch quite close to the Port Hills and I definitely felt a slow swinging movement with a slight jerkyness, so it was an large quake really for it to be felt so far away from Taupo, just that it was deep. | zqwerty (97) | |
2011-07-05 06:21:00 | Felt it here. :)

2011-07-05 07:29:00 | It was a very gentle side to side rocking for us (office building in Wellington CBD). I didn't notice it at first, and only realised what was going on when I heard some monitors on my colleague's desk creaking. | somebody (208) | |
2011-07-05 08:04:00 | 45 years in Welly and it's the first time I've seen furniture move unassisted since the late-80's when I was smoking some dubious herbage... | allblack (6574) | |
2011-07-05 08:28:00 | 150km down....That is probably where the Taupo crater came from? Ken  Ken, we have three to worry about, Lyttelton, Mt Herbert and Akaroa Lets hope they don't start rumbling 150km down. Lurking.
