However at the last minute Sony realised that the Cell GPU wasnt up to the job so they went to nVidia and bought their 7800GTX GPU. Consoles are great when brand new and just released. In part because they are consoles - and therefore the hardware does nothing else. But they become lame very quickly. PCs - if you upgrade always beat the pants off them - at least with high end GPUs etc, because it is continuously evolving. |

Custom controlers (eg guitar hero) may also provide an edge to consoles, but it's a short-lived advantage. |

Idk, some games I just can't bare to play on my PC (Assassins Creed being one of them.) Just isn't the same, some games i just *need* to play on my 360 if i'm going to play them at all :) |

If you find the right driver (and it's USB Connected, not too sure about wireless) you can install it to your PC to work it also.. Had my 360 wired controller, playing games on my PC for a while, just to try it out, Had my Headset, 360 Controller (With Vibrate functioning.) So I think the PC already caught up on that one :p |

| 1214228 | 2011-07-04 04:59:00 | As far as the original question goes, I don't have numbers but the pc would have much higher framerates. But so what, you are talking about setting the PC to look about the same, all PS3 games are designed to run at playable framerates and any more is pointless so in that scenario the only advantage (graphically) the pc has would be compared to games that occasionally stutter on the PS3. Where a pc comes into it's own is cranking up the settings past what a console can do and enjoying the image quality. That said I personally think most modern console games still look pretty good and would be happier for hardware developers to take a liitle longer between releases and for software developers to spend that time working on the gameplay and fun factor. The best graphics in the world can't help a bad game, and some awesomely fun games don't have cutting edge graphics. I think people put too much emphasis on style over substance in the gaming scene. As long as the games look ok and are fun to play, I don't care what platform is better. I play pc games because I prefer the keyboard and mouse control style. Driving games I always liked more on consoles. |

Is that why we're seeing games today on consoles look 100x better than they did when they first came out? BF3 for example. Watch the PS3 footage. Sure it doesn't look as good as pc, but it still beats most games available now. PC will always be better graphically. My $500 investment 4 years ago (or 5 now? Xbox 360) can play the same games that PC gamers can as of today without the constant upgrades. How much would a pc gamer spend on upgrades over 4 - 5 years? Yeah, point made. |

If you are on a PS3, you are not using a mouse. It will suck, no matter what the graphics are like. |
