| 1241209 | 2011-11-01 03:40:00 | Hi there. I need to find a way to enable 3 or 4 monitor support on new PC's (yet to be supplied) at a reasonable price The new HP/Lenovo Buseness PC's 'claim' to have mixed monitor support, but this either doesnt work at all or is offered as-is with no support & not recommended. So without buying a $600 vid card + a new PSU to match, any recommendations for 3 monitor PC setup ?? Ive seen some reasonable priced gaming cards with 3 outputs, but usually one HAS to be display port for triple monitor to work ( as described on the cards website), or only has 2 discrete outputs despite having 3 connectors - the older Intel chipset would disable onboard when a PCIe card is installed - the new Intel chips 'might' support it, but wouldnt actually work on the new i7 PC that it tried - some cheaper AMD mother boards used to work with onboard & PCIe , but thats a crap shoot as well ?? Id appreciate any suggestions. This will be for NEW Win7 PC's Cheers |

| 1241211 | 2011-11-01 03:57:00 | Cheers. May not be true Triple head card . Issue with that card is 3rd monitor HAS to be display port or use expensive display port ACTIVE adapters may be wrong ?? "To enable more than two displays, additional panels with native DisplayPort connectors, and/or DisplayPort compliant active adapters to convert your monitors native input to your cards DisplayPort or Mini-DisplayPort connector(s), are required. |

| 1241213 | 2011-11-01 04:56:00 | I was under the impression that the 6770 supported eyefinity. EDIT: Eyefinity needs to use it's display port to work. Why cant you use a display port to whatever adapter. Or am I missing something. |

| 1241216 | 2011-11-01 22:48:00 | I decided to just get a PC built to spec. Seems some local builders can get this to work, without display port or expensive Quadro's etc etc. Brand name PC's : didnt work or totally unsupported. thanks for the recommendations anyway. btw for that card mentioned above when 3rd monitor has to be display port, seems it HAS to be display Port Monitor, not via a passive adaptor. It is only a dual head card (it seems) Is true display port software/cpu driven ?? |
