1242746 2011-11-10 03:08:00 I've been using this site for a while now to get help for random pc advice, but now I have a question so I made my account finally lol.

I recently got tired of my OS (64 bit Vista) running slow so I decided to start from a clean slate again and reformatted. I didn't do anything but update my drivers, download my service pack two and other random updates, and install AVG (Virus protection). After I got everything back up and updated I downloaded Futuremark Vantage to see how the fresh install helped my system/scores. I could tell everything was running better untill it got to the second CPU test. My CPU was only putting out ~18-20 operations per second which I knew was extremely low while I was watching it. Part way thought the test I've been getting BSOD errors such as....

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I did some research and this site popped up and I went though a forum where someone had someone download BlueScreeView (which I've done as well) to see the source of the errors. I looked at the 3 errors I kept having and they were all and only related to ntoskrnl.exe.

Please help I'm just lost now :(

(Edited to add... I get same exact errors while trying to game too. It's unplayable)

Updated drivers from where exactly?

This is usually a driver error.

Get them from the manufacturer, not any other site and nor MS.

1242748 2011-11-10 19:45:00 If you're using an nVidia card & drivers, try something older than the 28x.x series of drivers. They seem to be causing a few problems for people. (http://forums.nvidia.com/)

I've had a few BSODs since updating my drivers a couple weeks back.
