1216385 2011-07-12 14:52:00 I have quite a few CDs with reference books on them that merrily load into any PC, as in my Eee-PC and of course, my desktop units .

What I need to understand is about all these new E-readers around us - if they can have these reference books loaded into them and accessed from there too .

I really don't want any of the Apple 'i' stuff, but I do like things ala: Google .

Will these books be mashable (is that the correct thought?) or is there another term for getting them onto a newest Google machine? I'm pulling my hair since the Palm OS isn't supported any more - or not that I am aware of, and my Cliès are all getting long in the tooth and the batteries are swelling just a bit now .

I have ISilo on my Palm systems, and although the PDAs themselves are going the way of the Dodo, I wonder if all my ISilo stuff is gonna be salvageable?

I've lost the neurological ability to feel the pages in a book, and just turning to the next page takes me more than a few fumbling-moments and that's not good in a classroom environment . I really need the electronic books and reference library on something that I can handle in class .

Just trying to make a game plan here for when my Cliès finally die . I need and use them a lot and since I don't need or desire internet access nor to have a cell phone, where's a guy supposed to go now?

+1 Calibre will do what you want unless your reader has a previously unknown format requirement
