| 1243309 | 2011-11-13 20:28:00 | Is there a way to disable this automatic update in WMC -Windows 7? I hate automatic updates! It's annoying. |

| 1243311 | 2011-11-13 22:26:00 | Followed your link. My task Scheduler doesn't allow me to make any changes. Anyway, the "Wake the computer to run this task box" is already unchecked - but my WMC was updating earlier this morning. Why it doesn't allow me to make any changes? |

Simple way -- Click start, type in Windows updates, click on the link when it appears OR Click start, Go to Control Panel ( on the right) open "Windows Updates" -- near the top left of the window, Change Settings, then in the drop down box near the top of the page change to Never check for updates. While there untick all the check boxes, click OK = Done. |

| 1243314 | 2011-11-14 03:52:00 | Try These here then (www.ehow.com) -- Just checked on mine and I can disable it if I want. I'm using W7 Ultimate. Edited: Just looked on a W7 Home in the workshop, and it works Ok on that as well. The only exception I did was click start, type in task and it brought up the scheduler option |
