2011-11-12 05:11:00 | Hi Group, I have a problem with my wifes computer . She turn on her computer but for some reason will go pass a window Sorry for the inconvenience but windows did not start successfully Gives you the options to start safe mode safe mode with networking Safe mode with command prompt or windows mormally. then says use the arrow keys to move to highlight but for some reason the key board will not work I have made sure the key borad I am using works as I have checked in on other computer. It gives you the second countdown before it will start windows start off at 28 seconds when it reaches zero go back right back to when you first turn on the computer for some reason it is stuck. She is running Windows XP Pro. Has anyone any ideas. Thank you John

2011-11-12 05:55:00 | Hi Pectek, Sorry not sure what you mean. But I think I have found the problem the mother board is not getting enough power I think. Once the computer is turned on it beeps once and starts to load then stops at the screen I have mention.

Once the computer is turned on it beeps once and starts to load Thats what its meant to do. What both PCTek, and Paul wrote needs to be tried, attaching a PS2 Keybaord, as the current USB Keyboard is not being detected in the BIOS and allowing it to work. It would work once windows boots. I have a workshop PC the same, wont detect a USB KB in the BIOS even though its meant to. |

2011-11-12 21:15:00 | Hi Paul, I did remove every that was connected to the computer and just had a key borad with round purple plug and mouse and still will not go pass that window and I cannot get it to start in safe mode. I know the mouse and key board are find as they work on other computer with no problems. | johntekuiti (13584) | |
2011-11-12 21:17:00 | Hi Wainui tech, I did what Paul said but still will not go past that window or start in safe mode. | johntekuiti (13584) | |
2011-11-12 21:25:00 | Sounds like its an AMD system, if XP is on it. And if SP3 was installed on it recently. And if it reboots everytime it (tries) to get into windows | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-11-12 22:48:00 | Can you please supply a bit more information on the Computer. Eg:if its a brand name - is it a HP/AMD as speedy suggested, or is it a built up one. What was done prior to this problem, Eg: any updates, programs installed/removed etc ????
