1242906 2011-11-11 01:29:00 Hello, I have been having trouble on my computer, its an Acer Aspire 3400 with a Nvidia 520 VC.
The problem I am having are Blue Screens of Death, one says: IRQL Not Less Or Equal, the other says System Service Exception. The common theory is that its a Ram error, I ram Memtest86 for about 2 hours without any kind of trouble mentioned, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
I have tried reinstalling my video drivers also, I may have done it wrong though. I recently read that I have to uninstall any video drivers currently installed and reboot before I reinstall, but I have also reinstalled windows, which makes me think it's a hardware issue.
Another issue may be that in my Device Manager>other devices, it says I have a Coprocessor that needs drivers but idk what a Coprocessor is and windows cannot find one automatically.
I see that many posts have some form of technical error report on their posts, but I don't know where to find one of these, so I cannot as of now give you the technical details, if they will help let me know where to find them and I will post them.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, thanks much. pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

Where are you getting the drivers from?

The Graphics card should be either Nvidia or ATI, depending on your cards brand.

The bulk of them will be motherboard drivers, LAN< sound, Chipset etc, and come from the motherboard manufacturers site - as it's an Acer it's most likely ECS.

I got the drivers for my video card from the Nvidia site, should I also be getting new Motherboard drivers and the other things you listed as well?

1242909 2011-11-11 18:14:00 Yes, you need all the motherboard drives, especially the chipset drivers. Go to the motherboard manufacturers site for them, check what board it's using. And the model. pctek (84)
1242910 2011-11-11 19:38:00 Okay so once I download all the drivers, how do I go about installing them? Do I let windows search for them, or will there be a program that will do it for me? Aythriel (16617)
1242911 2011-11-11 21:18:00 They typically come with a setup program (or they are the setup program)

Memtest should be run until it successfully completes a full pass (all tests)

Preferably it should be run for multiple passes, to prove stability.

1242912 2011-11-21 03:26:00 This error is generally seen when your on chip cache is going bad, you can verify this as the cause simply by either trying another processor or by disabling your cache in your BIOS settings. NOTE, your computer will run as slow as molasses in the winter time with the cache disabled, but you'll at least be able to verify whether or not the cache memory is the problem. edwinmeyer1963 (16618)
