2011-07-20 00:12:00 | We just purchased 10 Acer (I know) netbooks for the primary school. Currently we have about 2-8 computers in one room. No-one's learning is affected, no-one's complaining either. They're only dual-core atoms that cost about $30,000 in total (40 computers, monitors and desktops). OUCh - expensive way to go --- WindowsMultipont server would have been a lot cheaper option for in the class. All about it (www.microsoft.com) watch the video where it says see how it works. Tried it here with two screens, etc, and works fine.

2011-07-20 00:15:00 | so each computer is an access point to the server?? | GameJunkie (72) | |
2011-07-20 00:27:00 | Assuming you are referring to WMPS - then yep. The video on the site shows how it works. What you need, = 1 PC (reasonable power obviously),System Specs (blogs.technet.com) multi LCD's Keyboard, Mice The pricing is cheap compared to multi PC's. Server Software, around $234 then user licences, @ around $60 each. Oh wait !! its not Apple :p :D

2011-07-20 00:36:00 | The school says "our preferred device is an Apple iPad2" which to me means you can take/use any PC to school. | Snorkbox (15764) | |
2011-07-20 00:37:00 | I guess the next generation will be a bunch of useless morons who can't write, and know absolutely nothing about the real world outside of a computer room. Oh wait, half the population are already like that anyway.....

2011-07-20 00:50:00 | The school says "our preferred device is an Apple iPad2" which to me means you can take/use any PC to school. Dont know if you have read everything on the school site relating to that, but they are really pushing the ipad, and sure while other devices are allowed its very obvious they think the ipad is the bee's knees to end all - which it isn't. | wainuitech (129) | |
2011-07-20 00:50:00 | The school says "our preferred device is an Apple iPad2" which to me means you can take/use any PC to school. None the less, it has a persuasive quality to those ignorant of such matters and therefore not fair to the other suppliers.
