1216991 2011-07-17 09:38:00 Ask how many hands this went through before the video...
Ask if this has ever happened before to others... If so point out that someone in the "chain of accountability" is ripping the customers off.

If I was going to rip you off this is the way I'd do it. swap 2x $50 for 2 x $100 then the depositor would have doubt...

Go to Fair-go, Target, any other media that will listen...

Keep pushing it and good luck.

You really should think about the title you gave your post !

You are in effect stating that ASB are thieves. Which none of us would agree with or believe. (Maybe one of their staff members, but that is not ASB) Are they doing it to other people ? is it part of their business plan to rip off other cash depositors ?

If you had made your title read

"I lost $100 in an ATM machine deposit" or similar, then it would have been more acceptable.

I'm just saying....

1216993 2011-07-17 20:30:00 Digby - Fair enough - I guess it may not specifically be the bank. There's a few steps in between there....

Still, I counted it 3 times, then when I rang them to ask about the missing $100 he went away and consulted, came back and said the processing centre said it was 2 x 50s.

I said I didn't have any 50s. he says, yes you did. This went back and forth a bit like 2 little kids arguing until he then said don't argue with me.

Not exactly the response I would have expected. Something a little less vehement perhaps.

Anyway let's amend it now to $100 vanished somewhere from an ATM to it's end destination and probably I can't do anything about it except make a not of demoninations and serial numbers next time.

1216994 2011-07-17 20:46:00 You're all a bunch of pussies, of course the title is correct - all banks are thieves.
Stop being so PC, it's what's wrong with the world.

1216995 2011-07-17 21:18:00 If it was my money I would be calling them thieves too. It would appear that the organization is trying to pull the usual large entity trick of denying all responsibility and blaming the complainant for the error in the hope that they will just go away. Take it as far as you can Ptek. CliveM (6007)
1216996 2011-07-17 22:31:00 I agree.

Thieving bastards.

Make an appointment with one of their so called "managers" tell em they are thieves and if its not sorted you will lay a complaint with the police.

of course the cops won't take you seriously so don't bother with them but all you can hope to do is ruin someones day at the bank.

1216997 2011-07-17 22:43:00 Also, aren't fifty dollar bills slightly smaller than one hundred dollar bills? bob_doe_nz (92)

1217000 2011-07-17 23:36:00 ATM machine to ASB bank. Slight of hand as mentioned in earlier post.

Wife always uses the "hole in the wall" for cash deposits ! wonder if she ever checks bank statements.

I would put my money on the Security firm fiddle.
