| 1217817 | 2011-07-20 12:02:00 | Yesterday, I had to open my toilet bag and show them my shaving cream had a cap on it. Why, for chrissake? | TideMan (4279) | ||
| 1217818 | 2011-07-20 12:36:00 | Can anybody understand the necessity for the checks on internal flight. I am off to Wellington for a month and am getting ready to feel the contempt I have for these people who take their job so seriously, seeing as how it is a total waste of time. See you down the Occi then. |

Although the locals are much friendlier than the overseas border security people. If you raise *any* sort of objection (e.g. a half full 125ml container being confiscated) then you are immediately taken aside and checked for explosives. The guard didn't know what to say when I asked about cross-contamination of their 'wand' from previous scans. Although they were Australian, I might as well as have spoken to them in German. Their comprehension of cross-contamination was non-existent. There is a fellow Bruce Schneier who puts out a monthly newletter on security and cryto etc. and he often pokes the borax at airport security. At times it is heavy going but it is interesting reading on occasion. http://www.schneier.com/ |
