1243429 2011-11-15 03:31:00 Just got an email from Dell.

How does the $2199 version of this www.dell.com laptop stack up to the desktop?

It has an i7 2.8Ghz processor and 6GB DDR3 RAM with 1GB of graphics.

What do you think?

1243430 2011-11-15 03:46:00 Umm. No. Way worse. icow (15313)
1243431 2011-11-15 03:55:00 I would use it for gaming

laptop stack up to the desktop?

General rule-- Laptops and Gaming shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence :D

You would be far better off with the Desktop PC, not only for performance, but future upgrades as well.

1243432 2011-11-15 04:06:00 That's what I thought.

Is there any exact reason why? Like I know that laptops are generally worse but why? Is it the lack of space for air and upgrades? Or....

Thanks for the help!

Unless you're saying gaming and laptop shouldn't be used in the same sentence :p

As to why. Basically the hardware sucks too much. They may run some games now but their life at the top is short. Basically what happens is by the time the hardware is small enough to stick into a laptop you can get better on a desktop anyway.
