Make sure the replay is played slow, very slow, as it seems very odd that you would count 2 50's several times and not notice.

Lurking.

1216962 2011-07-15 02:41:00 It's a crappy situation, but I think it's a bit harsh to say they're "stealing" at this point.

Haha, I've bought up the footage business.
I've spoken to 3 separate people at ASB and one at the Banking Ombudsman.

It's now at the stage of getting all details of what the banks said/saw/claim etc in writing before the ombudsman can look into it.
50's are not eveb the same colour as 100's. Either the processing person did a fiddle or co-incidently they confused my bag containing 100's with another persons containing an amazingly similar amount (less $100)but containing 2 50s.
Either way the footage must show my bag with details clearly written on it, and the notes in question being withdrawn form that bag while in camera view - otherwise they can't prove I'm wrong.

1216963 2011-07-15 03:12:00 If there was a careless but innocent switch between 2 bags there should have been $100 too much in the other deposit.

Is the processing centre even run by ASB?

1216964 2011-07-15 03:29:00 That's a bit bloody raw of ASB to treat you like that. Good luck with your claim. I'll be watching this thread to see the outcome which I imagine will be positive for you.

I reckon the little guy that lives inside the ATM needs a whack over the noodles.

1 . ) Can't wait to see the video then . There may be more than one employee doing the unsealing and counting the dough .

2 . ) Could be a security firm, this is getting more suspect .

1216968 2011-07-15 04:48:00 Thats the one reason I wont use the fast deposits .

Had that discussion once with my bank, they said I can use the fast deposit instead of waiting in line - My argument was if I wait in line, deposit lets say $1000 in notes, the teller counts it out, and rubber stamps the deposit slip saying there was $1000,then its their problem if all of a sudden the tellers dont balance at the end of the day .

If you feed it into a machine, or quick deposit, who's to say the wrong amount was entered, its your word against theirs .

Have to wait till Monday. they rang to say we can view the movie at a branch.

The thing with banking over the counter is we get charged $3 to do so. May not seem like much but add it up over a month, and it's very unusual for us to bank large amounts. 100's is an extremely rare occurence.

Mostly it's piddling amounts and losing $3 of it matters.

All I can think, is note the exact quantities of various denominations and their serial numbers on the bag. Then photograph it with notations, then bank it.

It did occur to me who videos the guards in the back of the money van on the way to the processing centre? But that could lead to paranoia.

Still perhaps we both are colour blind and both have dementia now and both missed the fact that we counted out 50's as well. Both of us, in front of each other. We may have to go from the bank on Monday to the nearest psychiatric hospital instead.

1216970 2011-07-15 06:04:00 What? They charge you a cash handling fee? Think I'd be shopping around for a bank that doesn't rip people off! (Or just shove the money under a mattress and use it when required). When it comes to declaring it to the IRD for tax, tell them to come and count it themselves. Leave a ledger account of the ins and outs though.
