I'm still at home, I don't smoke, and I feel ashamed by it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it? :p

1216870 2011-07-15 01:44:00 Not seeing the issue myself. They're still available, they're just not allowed to be so openly displayed to tempt people, but if you want to choose to buy them you still can. They're not the only item that has restrictions on displays. I still think smoking in public should be banned, though. inphinity (7274)
1216871 2011-07-15 01:51:00 To be quite honest I wish we had a squad of people with guns who just shot smokers smoking outside buildings dead.
Then the survivors could work out if the risk of getting shot was worth smoking in public spaces.

Quite right, as long as they include the most serious home breaker, the pubs.

1216873 2011-07-15 02:53:00 Hahahahahahahahaha.

Nanny state here we come!

As a smoker I find this ludicrous. Banning the displays will do NOTHING to stop people smoking.

People don't decide to smoke because they walked into a dairy and saw a pretty picture on the ciggie box.

Stupidity at its highest.

1216874 2011-07-15 03:10:00 If it makes no difference then why do you care?

You take issue with public disapproval of a foul smelling cancerous habit?

Surely thats worthy or derision?

How many of you smokers are going to encourage your children to smoke?, are you going to tell them its the smart thing to do?

Me coming out of the pub drunk does not affect a solitary other person other than myself.

It does when you drink drive and kill an innocent.

Just like when you smoke around non-smokers you are potentially hurting them.

All it needs is some consideration, never smoke up wind from people that are non-smokers, don't sit in the bus stop, and don't stand in doorways. If people don't smoke, they don't want to sniff your smoke, so bugger off and smoke somewhere else - its quite simple really.
