| 1217051 | 2011-07-21 03:58:00 | I have not yet spoken with the Branch Manager, only the whatever sort of manager he was Manager. It has to go through the banks process first. If I'm not happy I can then go to the banking ombudsman, although that's kind of like Disputes tribunal, they can only go on what evidence there is. So I'll let it go through the motions and meanwhile I really am going to note the serial numbers etc. Mr 1st Manager said that was "a good idea". PCT, I'm confused, surely you recall whether or not you had any $50 in your deposit....If not, then you still dont have an answer!! |

| 1217052 | 2011-07-21 05:07:00 | Yeah I didn't really believe it when everyone told me it wasn't possible for the bank to screw up... Either way, the buyer (eventually) only provided me with a screenshot that proved nothing except a transfer appeared to have been made at some point and they had used my name on it (which means nothing, since the account number is what really matters) I went to my bank and asked them about it, they said they had no record of any deposit and I should tell the buyer to contact their own bank I asked the buyer multiple times to go to their bank and actually get the bank to check and verify 100% that the transaction had been made and that the account number was 100% correct but I never received anything back indicating that anything had been done on the part of the buyer. In the end I just gave up, as they didn't seem to actually care about what really happened, even though it seems that they did make a transfer somewhere. Your bank would not know anything other than to give you a printout of your statement for the period in question. Gosh, people seem to give up easily, if a deposit was made by the buyer, ask for a copy of the receipted copy or bank teller's receipt from buyer's bank as a receipt is issued either way. Small Claims Court, is probably far too expensive today, but if you are in the right, you recover any court costs from the buyer. It's all about the principle of the thing. Lurking. |

I gave up too easily? I don't think so. Note: They had no paper receipt as they did the deposit via Internet Banking I emailed them multiple times and asked directly several times that they go to their bank and get a stamped\signed letter\printout\whatever from the bank that proved to me that the Internet transaction had gone through and was to the correct account number (mine) I told them that without this my bank would not do anything because as far as my bank was concerned no deposit had been made to my account. They never sent me any such document or even hinted at even wanting to get one, and the other problem was that they never explicitly stated if they had contacted their bank about the issue or not. |

Look at it from a court point of view. I say I didn't. They say I did Footage is shown - rather vaguely I have to say, but the bank and staff at processing centre insist it's my bag and notes. I can't prove it isn't, I can't prove anything in between. Whether they can or not isn't the issue - it's like IRD or anything else, they're always right. Right? I haven't let it go, but I have to allow the bank to do their process, which seems to involve talking to more and more managers. Very slowly. After that who knows, probably they will conclude they did all that was needed. |

| 1217059 | 2011-07-21 09:32:00 | The whole banking system needs a reboot . I'd say . Why do the banks have the worst operating hours and yet specialize in money, the very basis of the economy, which never sleeps . . . Why, in an age of computers and where EFTPOS and Credit\Debit cards work instantly even internationally, do Internet\Phone Banking transactions take at least 1 working day from banks in the same suburb? |

There is always a paper trail, if the payer paid/deposited the money, they probably did not note it down along with the date of deposit, (if in fact he paid at all) . Your bank could have it sitting in a "suspense account" awaiting a home for it . Or even at the other bank . Not a Tradme sale on your part ? . Lurking . |
