1243107 2011-11-11 17:28:00 SWMBO wants a netbook. I think cheapies are around $400; could pay more if necessary.

Probably ASUS or Toshiba. Or Samsung?

What is your advice?

Thanks.

1243108 2011-11-11 18:12:00 Isn't Tosh or ASUS cost a bit more ..... some don't like Acer but bro has one, higher reso than just XGA and it has a HDMI port. Nomad (952)
1243109 2011-11-11 19:25:00 I've heard the MSi Wind is excellent. Asus is normally quality as well. icow (15313)
1243110 2011-11-11 22:12:00 What do you plan to do with it? If cheap is your number one criteria, then an Acer Happy is a good bet. MrRSoul (16583)
1243111 2011-11-11 22:19:00 You can get the Acer real cheap here: www.pbtech.co.nz

Or for a little more, I would look at this: www.dodgybastards.co.nz

The MSI Wind has been rumoured to support OS X. I dont know if there is any truth in that, but if it did, that could be a deciding factor.

I have had an MSI before, the only issue there is there support is non-existent...

Personally I would go for the Toshiba PLL50A-00M00D.

1243112 2011-11-11 23:26:00 ^ I think you mean hackintosh. Basically an netbook on the intel platform supports this. icow (15313)
1243113 2011-11-11 23:43:00 I would pay a bit more and get something decent. End of the day, you get what you pay for, if you want to go for the bottom end, expect it to be rubbish. Future proof yourself a little, you will find it will be worth it in the long run. Cheers. Iantech (16386)

I second that.

I have an MSI Wind and am very pleased with it apart from the speakers.
