| 1245414 | 2011-11-25 19:34:00 | I am going to upgrade the RAM from 1 to 2 Gb for SWMBO's Asus 1011PX netbook. Specs: 1333MHz DDR3 RAM (1 RAM slot) Are all of these (pricespy.co.nz)OK? Thinking of getting Kingston ValueRAM (pricespy.co.nz). Win7 Starter. Can take 2Gb maximum. The current performance of the netbook is better than I expected, but of course not as quick as a decent laptop or desktop. The RAM slot is easily accessible - only has one screw to remove. Battery lasts a long time, theoretically up to 10 hours or in practice I'd say it will last more than twice as long as the cheapie netbooks with only 3 cell batteries. SWMBO loves it. She is gradually getting over her tech-phobia and the small size of the netbook seems to make it more 'friendly'. :p |

There is no seal on the RAM cover; while I did not take the RAM out, I did not notice a seal on the stick itself. I'll save the 1Gb stick and put it back in if I need to send it for a warranty repair. |

Yeah, I don't think it is so complicated and that the choice I gave in my first post will do. However I may as well run the crucial software that Snork and Nomad suggested. How long have you had your 901? What is the hd capacity - only 20 Gb? |
