1245124 2011-11-24 04:21:00 I have just upgraded my phones to SIM card types.
When I enter and save an address it asks whether to save it to the phone or SIM card.
Which is normal?
What are the pros and cons for each option?

1245125 2011-11-24 04:25:00 simcard is portable but more basic and limited to certain no. of contacts.

in the phone - more contacts usable, more features like able to add multiple # to each contact, incl pix maybe and perhaps voice dialling etc ..... but if you lose the phone or it breaks, you lost all your contacts unless you do a backup onto the computer with the software.

1245126 2011-11-24 04:31:00 Pretty much the same as nomad said, What I usually recommend is if you have a normal (ie, non smartphone device) then save to the SIM, If you have a smartphone then save them to the phone and have them synced with your PC.

Reason being most people with a non-smartphone just have a name + phone number and thats all, and usually the non smartphones dont really support the extra features such as email addresses etc nor is it usually useful on them.

On a smartphone its much easier to back up the contacts and features such as emails and photo's make sense becuase the phones are usually used for emails as well. I also keep a few core contacts on the SIM in case i bust the phone or I need to use it in another handset.

1245128 2011-11-24 19:46:00 if you are sharing phones with friends etc . . . nice with simcards . . .

if you are just using your own phone and have a smartphone like someone said . . . maybe go for a phone memory . the same if you are travelling and you are frequently purchasing local simcards . . . . having it in the phone can be useful . . . . for me it is useful to include the person's name - their home #, work #, email address, cellphone # . Maybe if the person has a really long name . . . phone memory can handle it better than shortcutting it .
