| 1244507 | 2011-11-20 22:39:00 | ASUS F5R laptop Was dropping the date and time. Replaced the CMOS battery Date and time retained for a couple of weeks then started dropping the date and time Assuming that I installed a bad cmos battery I opened the laptop But testing the cmos battery was good Reassembled the laptop reboot the laptop, reset date & time Notice laptop was operating realllly slow. Laptop seemed to freeze, so manually shut it down, When I rebooted the date & time were lost again. The bios seems to be getting reset to default somehow. Test the ram: 3 passes: passed Scanned for malware: clean Test hard drive: ok (so far - in process) Can anyone explain to me why the bios is getting cleared / reset to default? |

| 1244509 | 2011-11-20 22:45:00 | Thank you, but I am aware of this. When I put the battery back in, I did as you said, reset the setting, but then when doing some processes on the laptop it seemed to freeze, so manually shut it down, when I rebooted the date & time were lost again as well as the other setting I had established. |
