Do they just send it back to the repairer and follow the process or are they able to give you a shop credit or do you take a 10% hit ... Right now. I have a DSL 2730B and I noticed the Wifi SSID renames itself to RTA_3502 or something ... and is unsecured. If my computers are using shared folders and is defined either a Home network or a Work network. Does that mean people can access my files? The wireless devices would not connect to an "unknown" SSID but the main computer is connected by network cable which has shared folders. I have tried setting up MAC address filtering but that only works under a specific SSID. When the RTA SSID is broadcasted by itself. In my modem/router setup that SSID is not visible - I cannot select that SSID and enable filtering .... It just shows my "should be" SSID. |

Once that is all sorted start again and create a new wireless network, SSID: "Bobs Network", set a WPA (or WPA2) password and try connecting a device to it. 2. You should then be able to enable MAC filtering and go from there. |

It's different to the one it quietly renames itself to . . . . . My PC is via network cable so I cannot tell . But when others use it they tell me that it's renamed itself . Sometimes you see both my own SSID and the RTA one . . . but the RTA is is unsecured . If you choose to connect to it . . . you can connect without a password and you are able to surf the net etc . . . If you catch this and do a power on/off it fixed itself but the thing this happens maybe daily . |

Re the return -- Under REPAIR/REPLACEMENT OF WARRANTY GOODS, section a www.pbwellington.co.nz Thats from the wellington Branch, but the other stores will be similar. |

| 1244425 | 2011-11-20 05:30:00 | Thanks, if we get it. PB Tech in Auckland currently has a note that they do a 14 day money back guarantee on that particular Netcomm device. May use that instead. I bought a modem from Ascent as we been on dialup for 2 weeks already, we just took a 10% hit and bought the device elsewhere with a money back gaurantee (DSE). We have login passwords, guest account closed. But yah - if they use it to download pirated stuff .... technically we are responsible. Also called my ISP and they said that if you have any down time - from a management and a billing point of view they cannot suspend/transfer my account even if I spent the whole month on dialup. They said either you have it or you don't. Well one could cancel the account for the time being  but I've got a 12 month contract with them ...... |

I had this with a Nvidia video card but Computer Lounge was nice enough to let me switch to a ATI card and pay the difference. |
