1218612 2011-07-23 22:33:00 St John should just tell them to get f****d. Tell them that they wont be attending any RWC matches. That ought to sort them out.

Thought the same thing myself. But this is NZ and you can't rock the RWC boat so everyone will capitulate to the god called the IRB..

They should have take it as is or find your own ambulances..

1218613 2011-07-23 22:40:00 Not that I personally care a lot about the World Cup - but this thread is more anti-corporate sponsors lameness. St John took a contract on with conditions and they're ok with complying with those conditions, so where is the problem?

pretty much, just like every other job.

The thread should be renamed: More lame whinging about RWC because we got nothing better to do.

1218614 2011-07-23 22:53:00 They don't need to receive financial compensation. St John are still being paid
by their sponsors.

That's not the point. If RWC is paying them, then they can make part of the contract terms that no 3rd party advertising/branding is to be shown.

However, if St John are attending for free, then that's another story.

1218615 2011-07-23 23:05:00 I don't have a problem with it if and its a big IF the IRB pay to have all that sponsorship covered up on the ambulances otherwise the money that should be spent on patient care is spent on petty BS gary67 (56)

You got in one Paul .

They should have been told Provide your own Ambulances as we're not repainting or disguising ours .

I guess it’s just another case of the Tail being allowed to Wag the Dog in this P… Weak Country .

1218617 2011-07-24 03:04:00 Umm they are paying them. They could easily pay someone else. You guys are blind or something. rob_on_guitar (4196)

It's (partly) a charity, how stupid would they be to turn $$$ down.

1218620 2011-07-24 03:36:00 Volunteers on hand in case of an emergency are among those who need to cover up under rules banning advertising around Rugby World Cup venues.

1218621 2011-07-24 03:53:00 Yes volunteers who agreed to the contract.... they don't have to be there, which is why they are volunteers. rob_on_guitar (4196)
