Imagine... someone has a heart attack. Ambulance rocks up - "sorry guys, you must cover up those logos before saving this poor gits life" :groan:

1218603 2011-07-23 09:41:00 St John should just tell them to get f****d. Tell them that they wont be attending any RWC matches. That ought to sort them out. pine-o-cleen (2955)
1218604 2011-07-23 10:38:00 The statement "We accepted the contract (to provide emergency services at the World Cup) under those rules, so we will stick to them" suggests that they might be receiving financial compensation from the RWC organisers to provide emergency medical services - just a guess though. somebody (208)
1218605 2011-07-23 10:58:00 That had crossed my mind, but are there many/any other ambo services around? Renegade (16270)
1218606 2011-07-23 11:28:00 What's the problem ? It doesn't stop them from doing their job. All advertising will be removed or covered before the RWC starts. wmoore (6009)
1218607 2011-07-23 12:03:00 Getting "AA" off all the road signs could take a while, but the letter and phone boxes are going to be tedious. R2x1 (4628)

They don't need to receive financial compensation. St John are still being paid
by their sponsors.

1218609 2011-07-23 14:24:00 maybe not, if any of their sponsors get pissed off about it and stop funding.

Seriously, this whole RWC thing just makes me want to scream get the **** over yourself new zealand.

I second the idea of having the ambos not turn up.

1218610 2011-07-23 19:37:00 I dont see any issue at all. They still do the job. The sponsor get their adverts like they paid for, the ambos get to be there like they are paid for.

Like he said, they took the contract understanding the rules.

1218611 2011-07-23 21:11:00 Not that I personally care a lot about the World Cup - but this thread is more anti-corporate sponsors lameness. St John took a contract on with conditions and they're ok with complying with those conditions, so where is the problem? Twelvevolts (5457)
