2011-11-29 21:25:00 | My computer has developed this problem 2 times within a week: When I turn ON the power button, it starts up, going through the POST, after a few seconds, it shuts down and restarts by itself as if there is a power lost. It boots up OK after that. Computer Specs: MB: Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 (replacement of my previous EP45-DS4P by PB Tech) CPU: intel Q9550 PSU: Corsair TX650W (replacement of the faulty unit, same model) GPU: Gigabyte HD4850 RAM: Super Talent DDR2 800 2x2GB Dual Channel Corsair DDR2 PC8500 2x2GB Dual Channel Could it be a PSU issue again? This Corsair TX650 has just been replaced a couple of moths ago. Any suggestions?

2011-11-29 21:29:00 | Does it reboot itself at random times during the day after it has successfully booted? | EmoCat (16620) | |
2011-11-29 21:37:00 | No. After it successfully rebooted, it works perfectly through out the day - no restarting. | bk T (215) | |
2011-11-29 21:45:00 | If it boots to start with then its probably not your power supply. Could be a defective Motherboard. Have you found any other problems (ie: With GPU, CPU etc)? | EmoCat (16620) | |
2011-11-29 22:39:00 | A PC I built back in July, which had a Gigabyte Board, P67A Was doing similar things. Sometimes it would boot fine for days, others it would try to start, then suddenly shut down while starting or get into an endless reboot for minutes - hours then finally start. Once it was going it ran perfectly. Did every hardware test, changed out hardware while testing and nothing could be found, in the end did a RMA on the board, and while the suppliers never did say if they found a problem or not, they sent a better board (newer model) as a replacement.

2011-11-29 23:09:00 | Orignially, bought this MB (EP45-DS4P) back in end of Oct 2008, developed problems and returned to PB Tech (some time in May 2011) and they replaced it with this EP45-DQ6. Now, it's just over the 3 years warranty period and I doubt they will do anything about it. hard luck. Anyway, will phone them.

2011-11-30 01:20:00 | Could be a faulty on/off switch. Or its sticking | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-11-30 07:52:00 | The ON/OFF switch seems to be OK. Anyway, has return to PB and they accepted my warranty claim. :) But they have to send it back to Gigabyte Australia for repair or replacement, and it's going to take 2 - 4 weeks.
